How Designing Moves works
You may need one service or several — the choice is yours. Clients may begin with a space planning consultation to understand what fits in their new home, then build from there. Others may come to us mid-move needing sorting support, or after a bereavement needing estate clearance. There is no fixed package and no pressure to take more than you need.
The greatest value comes from planning before the physical work begins — knowing what you're moving, where it's going, and what needs to happen to everything else. That's what separates a smooth move from an overwhelming one.
Designing Moves Services

Space Planning
Working with Mark Rantin Architecture, I create a measured floor plan for your new home — designed around the possessions that matter most to you. Know exactly what fits and where before a single item is packed.
Charged at $100 per hour. Available independently or as the foundation for your move plan.
Move Planning
A formal Move Planner built around your situation — covering packing plans, staged activities, and contractor bookings. If you want Designing Moves to manage the distribution of items leaving your home (photographing, listing, contacting traders, removal contractors, and donation organisations), this is where that coordination sits.
Charged at $80 per hour. Works alongside space planning and sorting, or as a standalone service.
4-Stream Sorting
Hands-on, judgement-free sorting support using the 4-Stream system — working through your possessions together, grouping and labelling as we go. Every item assessed once, every decision made with confidence.
Begin with a 2-hour introductory session to learn the framework, then book on-site sorting time as you need it. Weekend full-day bookings available at a discounted rate.
Introductory session $100. On-site sorting from $45 per hour. Full-day weekend booking $320 (8 hours).
Estate Clearance
Compassionate, professional support for families navigating an estate — honouring wishes, inventorying possessions, and preparing goods for sale, donation, or clearance using the 4-Stream system.

Inventory Management
A tailored record of your possessions — capturing items of financial or sentimental value alongside your instructions for their placement, now or in the future. Delivered in digital and hardcopy formats, with optional photography.
Available as a standalone service or alongside any other Designing Moves engagement.

At the heart of every Designing Moves engagement is my four-stream system — a structured, practical approach to sorting possessions that takes the overwhelm out of the decisions.
Whether you're preparing for a smaller home, retiring, or managing an estate, the four streams make sure everything is accounted for, nothing is wasted, and you carry your story into your new space.
Memory creation — photographing and recording the possessions you're leaving behind — can be added to any engagement.
